Round-up & to-do list

The week before Easter was a 4-day week. I had a lot to do before we broke up on Thursday, all of which was on the history book. Here’s how I did:

  • complete the Cadbury book

Yes! I worked really, really hard to get this into a finished state, and I submitted it at around 11pm on the Thursday evening. I still have a few things to do on it such as the acknowledgements page and sifting through the hundred-or-so photographs, deciding which to use and then writing captions. And I have to write to a member of the family to see if he’d like to write a foreword. BUT … it was submitted, and while we were off I heard that it had been passed into the editing process.

HURRAH!

  • write a blog post every day

No, I didn’t write a blog post every day. I did, however, manage one on Thursday. Then over the holiday I managed another two blog posts.

  • complete 1 proofreading job for favourite client
  • scan the jobs board on a daily basis
  • daily competitions
  • daily online surveys
  • daily videos
  • check bank every day
  • complete 2 daily polls every day
  • weekly backup of the pc
  • weekly invoices/finances

No, I didn’t really manage any of these. My focus was all on the history book.

  • diary work

I’d already done this, for two weeks.

We finally broke up after I’d submitted the history book quite late on Thursday evening. Then the poet wasn’t very well over the Easter weekend and we were snowed in again for the holiday Monday.

Tuesday was spent emptying the spare bedroom, getting it ready for the new office, which arrived on Wednesday. The rest of Wednesday was spent building the office and moving what we could from our old offices to the new office. Thursday was spent putting a few things on walls, and I went through some of the old works in progress I’d stumbled upon during the move.

We had hoped to do some work for the Alphabet Adventurers over the holiday. But with the weather, the office move and the bug the poet picked up, we didn’t manage that either until Friday. On Saturday we visited family, in Solihull and in Doncaster, and on Sunday we chilled, did some work and I scheduled this round-up.

Sunday was also spent considering the diary. I have some client work to catch up on plus the extra bits and pieces for the Cadbury book. And I have to decide which project to work on for Camp NaNoWriMo, which starts today. (I arranged it so that I’m just doing it on work days.)

This coming week I have 4½ working days. Here’s how the to-do list is looking:

  • choose illustrations for history book
  • write captions for illustrations for history book
  • write to family member for a foreword for the history book
  • write acknowledgements page for history book
  • reply to email from my allocated editor
  • write a blog post every day
  • complete 1 proofreading job for favourite client
  • consolidate proofreader and author corrections for 1 job for favourite client
  • write up 2 posts for 52 books in 52 weeks
  • finish reading 1 book for 52 books in 52 weeks
  • start new book for 52 books in 52 weeks
  • scan the jobs board on a daily basis
  • pitch for 3 jobs
  • start Camp NaNoWriMo
  • write up ‘D’ for Alphabet Adventurers
  • daily competitions
  • daily online surveys
  • daily videos
  • check bank every day
  • complete 2 daily polls every day
  • diary work
  • weekly backup of the pc
  • weekly invoices/finances

*GULP!*

Again, the blue jobs are all allocated just one hour a day between them, the red jobs are weekly jobs.

What’s on your to-do list this week?
