Round-up and to-do list

I had a lot to do again last week, and I didn’t manage to do them all.

  • daily writing exercise
  • write a blog post every day

I only managed one of each of these last week, and they were both on Wednesday. Saying that, I’ve done both already today, but it’s unlikely I’ll get any more blog posts done this week.

  • read through Catch the Rainbow and send next instalment to beta readers
  • sort out all the bits for The Beast Within (a Marcie Craig mystery)
  • write 1 guest blog post for friend

Not one of these were done at all, and I won’t have time to do any this week either.

  • check layout on 1 job for favourite client
  • complete 1 editing job for favourite client

Yes! I did both of these …

  • complete 1 proofreading job for favourite client
  • finish reading 1 book for 52 books in 52 weeks
  • write up 1 post for 52 books in 52 weeks
  • start new book for 52 books in 52 weeks

… but I didn’t manage any of the above. I’m not doing very well, am I?

  • scan the jobs board on a daily basis
  • pitch for 3 jobs

Aha! Yes! I did this every day, and I pitched for not 3 but 4 jobs. One of the jobs I pitched for came in this morning. Two jobs were closed, so they probably chose a different contractor. And one job was still there this morning.

  • daily competitions
  • daily online surveys
  • daily videos
  • check bank every day
  • complete 2 daily polls every day

Yes! All of these chores were completed, and all within just one hour between the lot of them.

Yes! I did band admin, gig list admin, and I did this week’s diary.

  • weekly backup of the pc
  • weekly invoices/finances

Nope! These are both jobs normally reserved for a Friday afternoon, but we weren’t here on Friday afternoon.

  • go out on ‘E’ adventure
  • write-up ‘E’ adventure

We already started this adventure the week before last, and now we have to go out at the same time of day, in the same kind of weather, wearing the same clothes, for continuity on the video. We’ve not had an occasion where all of those planets have aligned at the same time, so far. By the time we do get there, I bet all the flowers will have changed too!

On Friday afternoon we were collecting the poet’s new temporary company car, and we had two other appointments last week that we had to keep. We also ended up with a busier than expected weekend.

This week I need to catch up on some of my editing work. So, as it’s a 4-day week (with another next week), this is what I want to concentrate on. It’s also tax return time, so I have some financial work to do for that and associated jobs.

Here, then, is this week’s easier, shorter to-do list:

  • daily writing exercise
  • complete 1 proofreading job for favourite client
  • complete 1 proofreading job pitched for and won
  • scan the jobs board on a daily basis
  • pitch for 3 jobs
  • daily competitions
  • daily online surveys
  • daily videos
  • check bank every day
  • complete 2 daily polls every day
  • end of month finances
  • end of year finances
  • annual tax return
  • update ALCS
  • gig list admin
  • diary work
  • weekly backup of the pc
  • weekly invoices/finances
  • go out on ‘E’ adventure
  • write-up ‘E’ adventure
  • Have a 4-day weekend

We also have 1 appointment each this week. But NO gigs at the weekend again.
