NaNoWriMo 2018 – days 20 & 21

I didn’t mean to take another day off. But yesterday I did a new assignment and by the time I got home something else happened to distract me from my writing:

My book was published!

The book was supposed to be published next year some time, but we did so well getting it ready, publication was brought forward to 30 November.

The eagle-eyed will notice that yesterday was not 30 November either. It was 20 November. Another 10 days early. And then I found out it was actually officially published on 19 November.

This is brilliant, especially as it was last year’s NaNoWriMo project and this year’s NaNoWriMo isn’t even over yet.

I did some publicity work yesterday and had to keep touching and feeling my lovely new book, of which one copy arrived in the post. Then this morning, another 5 copies arrived!

So I didn’t get around to this year’s NaNoWriMo yesterday. I was very much basking in the glory of last year’s NaNoWriMo. 😀

Today has been mostly spent writing up yesterday’s assignment and then planning work for tomorrow’s assignment. And when I finally got around to NaNoWriMo again, I think I more than made up for taking the day off.

In fact, I’m less than 6,000 words away from my 50,000-word target, and there’s still another whole week left after this one.

So I’m not beating myself up for missing another day.
