Friday 27 September 2019

I’m running out of steam or getting distracted in the afternoons. So I’m moving more work to the mornings and more faff to the afternoons. I’m not sure if that’s working or not yet, but time will tell.

Yesterday started on a positive note with a job query arriving overnight and a big publisher agreeing to consider one of my previously self-published books. I wrote my daily blog post, did a halfhearted job-search and pitched for just one editing job. Then I had my 25-minute social media fix.

The last job of the morning was submitting Night Crawler.

Not long after dinner some unexpected visitors dropped by. It was nice to see them and a nice surprise.

The only work I really managed in the afternoon was a lot of reading work for the Cadbury book. And I have lots of tabbed pages for when I come to do my free-writing.

The last job of yesterday was to write up today’s Pomodoros.

Today’s work includes that Cadbury free-writing, a quick job search and any pitches,  and a scene for The Fool so I have something to read out Monday afternoon at the writers’ group. The job arrived from Hong Kong this morning, so I want to start that as well. I also have another publisher to contact regarding Night Crawler. And we have the  weekly shopping to do.

We don’t have much planned for the weekend. We’d usually be going to see my mom at some point, but we’ve both been a bit contagious this week and don’t want to take anything nasty with us to pass along. We might just spend the next couple of days trying to get better.

Have a great weekend.
