I published a book

I didn’t get around to writing any of Catch the Rainbow yesterday, but I did sort some of the rest of the material into some sort of order. This one may not get finished before the end of August, but then again, it might …

The Life of Richard Cadbury was also neglected. I need to get on with this one. We’re still awaiting the foreword, but if I get on with it and have done it by the time the foreword arrives, then I can send it straight off.

The other project that didn’t get any attention was 52 Books in 52 Weeks. I’m reading books on how to write and how to improve your writing all the time, but the write-ups take a little longer.

I did write a blog post, I did get through a lot of admin, I did do my books for 2019/2020 and for 2020/2021 to date, and I did submit my tax return for 2019/2020.

And, of course, the biggest personal job I managed yesterday was to publish Twee Tales Too. It took me a few hours to get the formatting just right, but I think I’m happy with it now.

This is my second volume of collected short stories and it was available before. It’s had a face-lift now and the ebook is available on your chosen platform here: Buy Twee Tales Too. Some of the e-readers are quicker at publishing than others, so if yours isn’t on there yet, do bookmark the page and check often.

A paperback for Twee Tales Too is currently being prepared. I’ll let everyone know when that’s available.

Of course, finishing this one has made me think of all the others I still need to do, and could do right away.

For example, I can start a new, rebranded paperback for Twee Tales, the first collected volume of short stories. I can move Night Crawler over to Draft2Digital. I have already started to collect stories for Twee Tales Twee, but I also have material for Slightly Sinister Stories as well as for Spooky Tales.

Jobs in progress that could soon be ready are 52 Books in 52 Weeks and Diary of a Pussycat.

And jobs I’m writing or planning that will go off to traditional publishers include Mardi Gras (full draft finished), The Beast Within: a Marcie Craig mystery and The Fool, a novella/pocket novel.

I’m getting into a rhythm now, so they all should start coming to fruition. But it is all very time-consuming. Especially when I have client work to do too. We have another busy period coming up in our lives in the next few weeks, so I need to get done what I can before that particular balloon goes up.

Today I’m going to approach some of the clients for the editing agency. This is such a well-paying gig that I’d be stupid not to pursue it with more vigour. I also have the job board to check and the new client job that came in yesterday.

I’d best crack on.
