Sorry for the “click bait”, but I didn’t know what else to call it today! 😇
This picture was originally tucked inside an envelope and given to me on my birthday one year, by a friend I worked with at the National Grid.
I have no idea what he was trying to suggest …
I left the National Grid in 1997, so I probably got this in 1995 or 1996. Then it was just a black and white photocopy.
Recently, the poet digitally enhanced it for me and coloured it in. Now it hangs in my office on the wall with the window in.
Daily dog walk
For Wednesday morning’s walk, I had hoped to find the circular walk the people with the three-legged dog had taken the day before. I know they emerged from the churchyard, so that’s where I headed.
I didn’t find the circular walk, although I did end up on a patch of wasteground between the old airfield and the new housing estate. Some of the people who live in the houses had claimed the odd patch of this wasteground here and there and utilised it as a mini allotment or a small playing field – complete with 2 goalposts.
The further along this patch of wasteground I walked, the more overgrown it became. But when the dog started to get a bit excited and he began to pull on his lead, I turned around and came back. If I venture down there again, I’ll make sure the poet’s with me. I’ll also take a picture, as it seems the ideal place to conceal a dead body … ⚰️
On the way back, I stopped off at the Commonwealth war graves section of the churchyard and paid my respects.
The Life of Richard Cadbury
When I got back from the walk, the first job I did, again, was The Life of Richard Cadbury. The target was 39 pages, and I proof-read … 39 pages.
This leaves me with 79 pages altogether, so 40 pages today and 39 pages tomorrow … unless I get them all done today.
Faffing
Work came to a grinding halt when I couldn’t get my printer/scanner to work.
I’d already connected the printer to the computer wirelessly, but I couldn’t get the computer to access the scanner.
I spent the rest of the day trying to sort it all out and when Samsung’s so-called “easy document creator” opened up, it looked totally different to the last time I saw it and I had to learn it all again.
It’s working now, but it meant I didn’t finish all of yesterday’s planned work. 🥺
