Wahey!
I finally found out how to place a picture where I want it instead of where WP thinks I want it! And how to resize it too!
I’m on a roll. 🤪
Our walk on Sunday turned into a bit of a fungi walk, and here’s just one example that we encountered. Isn’t he sweet?
Now I just need to find out how to pull up a sub-heading without it appearing below everything else …
Tier 2 Lockdown
Along with a lot of the country, South Yorkshire was put onto Tier 2 Lockdown, with effect from tomorrow. I believe this will be for four weeks.
Basically, it means that we can’t mix with people from other households anywhere indoors. Anywhere indoors. (Apart from our support bubbles.) But we can still mix in groups of up to six outdoors, we can still travel around the country (so long as we follow other local lockdown measures), and we can still do out of doors stuff.
However, restaurants and other places that sell food where you can sit down are to stay open, and pubs are allowed to continue to open if they can social distance and so long as they stick to the 10pm – 5am curfew.
So, if we’re not allowed to mix with anyone outside our own households indoors, how do these hostelries and eateries expect to fill their tables?
I’ve stayed pretty quiet on the whole lockdown/social distancing issue. I have friends that disagree strongly, but so long as they don’t inflict their strong beliefs on me (and stay 2 metres away!), they can get on with it. I’m not the social distance police and nor am I the anti-compliance police.
But I do think that this latest so-called “clear” guidance is still, in fact, incredibly unclear and inconsistent. It’s no wonder that people are ignoring it – and it doesn’t help matters when that includes our politicians and other public figures.
Ghostwriting
The only job I managed to do yesterday was the ghostwriting job. I want to get rid of this first instalment now so I can get on with the indexing for The Life of Richard Cadbury.
After a bit of a dodgy night, I’m late to my desk today. Very late. I have two big jobs to do, and they’re both on tight deadlines this week.
So I’m cracking on with the writing gig first, see how I get along.

Welcome to the club, Diane! We’ve essentially had these rules since mid-August and are beginning to tire of them now. Not being policed either. Seems like we’re never going to socialise again.
Hey, thanks for dropping by. Nice to see you here! 🙂
We’ve been semi-self-isolating anyway and trying to keep away from lots of people. They’ve been policing the rule of 6 thing in Doncaster, apparently. But when we had to go, there were still lots of unmasked people bumping into others.
The inconsistency and confusion is a joke.
We’ve had those rules in W Yorks for the last 8 weeks. I’d rather have a total lockdown, get it over with and its much clearer what we have to do.
Yes, I agree. Plus, one line of advice from the government instead of multi-choice options would be a great help, I think.
