Yesterday, then, was the start of my NaNoWriMo journey for 2020.
I have around 17 days in which to write 50,000 words, and that gives me a daily target of just under 3,000 words – or a smidge under 2,972. If I can write at least those 3,000 words every working day, that will give me 51,000 words.
For ages and ages I just stared at the top of my screen. I knew what I was supposed to be writing and I knew how long it should be. But I couldn’t get going.
BUT … I refused to get up and walk away until I’d at least started, so I forced myself to write something … and managed to write 3,003 words in the end.
That’ll do for Day 1.
However, I have hit a snag in my planning in that the body isn’t discovered quick enough. So I need to revisit my plan and do some new calculations.

Hope it goes well.
Thank you. It’s not yet going as well as the ghostwriting has been, but at least I’ll have finished something by the end of the ghostwriting!
