Day 1: 1 November 2022
For this year’s NaNoWriMo, I’ll be writing for 22 days in November. This gives me a daily target of 2,273 words, which will be about 2 chapters per day.
I decided to be a NaNo rebel this year and write a non-fiction book instead of a novel. More than one, in fact, for the plan is to write Books 2 and 3 of Project Management for Writers, or a total of 50,000 words, whichever comes first.
Much of the prep work was already done as I created the Scrivener binder for the entire series more than a year ago. I did have to search for the latest version, as I’ve reset the computer a few times since then and I’ve lost a memory stick that, frankly, wasn’t working very well in any case.
For today’s contribution, I added front matter, some end matter, and the introduction.
I wanted to write Chapter 1 as well, but I had a lot of other work to get on with so, regrettably, I left it there. Besides, I didn’t think I’d done too badly for day one. I really had to tear myself away from it, though, to get on with the paid work for the day.
I’m chomping at the bit now to be writing more, which is always a good sign.
Today was a good NaNo day.
Day 1 = 3,706 words.
I’ll be posting (week)daily updates, with Diary of a Tiger moving to a weekly Saturday post for the duration of this year’s NaNo.
Excellent first day, and great to see you over at Enchanted Wordsmiths again!
Thank you! And backatchya
