Day 13 & 14: 27 & 28 November 2022
I always brag that I never, ever get flu and that I’ll never, ever have a flu jab. I did get flu once, and it was when we both had Covid 2 years ago. That felt like flu. But apart from that, I never, ever get flu…
Until this week, it seems. The gastric flu I’ve had is still hanging around and now the poet is poorly too, but he’s got the chesty flu, which still wreaks havoc with his asthma.
So we’re the walking wounded at the moment, keeping each other company in our misery. He cancelled two work trips this week and I haven’t done a stroke of work… other than NaNoWriMo.
I really, really wish I’d been able to get ahead earlier in the month because then I could have taken a couple of days off with a clear conscience. BUT… Paid work needed to be back with the client, and it starts again on Thursday. So I only have 3 days left, including today, to complete NaNoWriMo 2022.
Fortunately, I still managed to add 5,304 words yesterday, which made the last few days a little easier at least. That left me with 12,605 words to write over the last 3 days.
I can do that… especially when I also added 3,804 words today. That leaves me with 8,801 words over 2 days, or a final daily target of 4,400/4,401.
