So we pretty much ran out of time. We did a helluva lot… but we ran out of time. Saying that, there are only a couple of things we wanted doing by *the day* that haven’t been done.
We still have tomorrow, but we’re already going to see my mom tomorrow so we’ll just have to see what we feel like doing when we get back and that, in turn, also depends on what time we get back and how dark it is when we do.
Today was one of the busiest days with me doing what Christmas baking I wanted to do while the poet did things like put the laundry away, dig some baking equipment out of the shed, and wrap ALL of the presents. Then he came and helped me put the finishing touches to the vegan Yule log which, I have to be honest, turned out considerably better than I thought it would.
And then we topped the day off with a trip to our new local with 2 of the poet’s mates.
As already mentioned, we have a busy Christmas Eve, and while we’re in the midlands, or on our way back, we want to try and fit in a short and easy walk.
On Christmas Day we have a houseful, but we plan to do nothing at all on Boxing Day.
Then we’ll start to do all the jobs we didn’t finish in time, as well as fit in another day or 2 out.
All that needs to be done now is to thank you all for coming along and reading the blog over the past year, and to wish you all a very Happy Christmas, however you celebrate it.
I hope you and the poet have a very Merry Christmas, Diane! Enjoy time spent with family and friends! It will be quiet for us – just me, the boyfriend, and my daughter – but that’s okay! I’m planning to head home to see my parents next week.
Thank you! I hope you all had a great time, once the emergency was over.
