I started the job of deleting my stories from Vocal on Thursday, after I’d scheduled Friday’s post to publish, beginning with the date-specific topical stories that won’t make sense now. I also removed some other stories that have been on there for 2 years and that will have slipped way down the showcase pecking order.
I turned to my monthly word-count spreadsheets and decided to go back to my other preferred spreadsheets I was using before. I couldn’t get the spreadsheets to open in LibreOffice at first. They kept crashing the application. So I deleted them and downloaded them again.
Then I sat and stared at the multi-project one for ages until I figured out how it works. Once that was done, I was able to add in all of the projects I’m starting in October to the end of the year, which meant I used the 1-month worksheet, the 2-month worksheet and the 3-month worksheet.
There are also 4-month, 5-month and 6-month worksheets in the workbook, but I’ll update the one that’s already started at the beginning of November and again in December. Then I’ll decided whether to continue with the current one or start a fresh one in January.
Once that was out of the way, I finally got around to CATCH THE RAINBOW, but it was already 5pm by then, so that meant a bit of overtime until Son #2 delivered grand-doggy #1 for the night.
On Friday, I started today’s blog and I did my 5-minute tech declutter. Then I outlined Part 2 of STEVIE BECK AND THE MYSTERY AT HORTON EDGE for 12 STORIES IN 12 MONTHS.
I had a play with the Novelist app, but couldn’t get it to work properly on the Mac. So I downloaded an old favourite app of mine, Story Plotter. Obviously I’d lost all of my previous work, but I think I’d already transferred it to the computer at least, and stories at best. I started a new one for THE MYSTERY AT HORTON EDGE and had a play with the Novelist app on my phone. I downloaded both, then, to my tablet.
The rest of the day was spent on CATCH THE RAINBOW. But on Friday evening, I did start to outline THE MYSTERY AT HORTON EDGE Part 2. Son #2 came to collect the dog, and we had tea – battered fish, chips (fries), and peas.
The poet was full of cold after his week-long business trip, so he didn’t feel like doing much at the weekend. On Saturday we did the shopping and on Sunday we chilled all day. Although he did make a pumpkin soup and I made a trifle.
Today I have this week’s diary to do, THE MYSTERY AT HORTON EDGE Part 2 to write, Monkey Dust admin, and a client proofread. Then it’s back to CATCH THE RAINBOW.
How was your weekend?
