It’s publication day today for my VERY SHORT STORY The Mucky Duck, Flash Fiction #14.
In 2023, I started a writing challenge. The challenge was to write 12 short stories in 12 months. I joined again in 2024, and again in 2025. The Mucky Duck is one of those stories.
We were given the prompt ‘living’ and a target word-count of 1,200 words exactly. We could choose whatever we liked and we didn’t even need to use the prompt. As soon as I knew that Geoff King made a ‘living’ as a hit man, I had my story.
