This novel is Book 13 in the Rizzoli & Isles series, as once again Detective Jane Rizzoli and forensic pathologist Maura Isles team up to solve a gruesome murder.

The story opens with the apparent attempted murder of a young woman and the actual murder of a middle-aged widowed nurse. Are the two events connected in some way? And why does the murder have a similar MO to a historic crime?

What I liked about the novel was, well, all of it. It was fast-paced with several balls being juggled in the air, and some great characters. I loved this story so much I intend to go right back to the beginning and start reading all of the Rizzoli & Isles books in the series.

What I didn’t like was the formatting in places. It was a bit staggered in places, with massive gaps in the middle of sentences causing new lines mid-paragraph. In one place the start of one chapter had been cut out and re-pasted at the very end of the chapter. Also, the phrase caps didn’t work at all.

What would I do differently? Well, nothing, other than perhaps tidy up the formatting. The story was great, the characters were great, the writing was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the read and finished it in record time.
